Bud Light Golden Wheat and SNL deal…..from a marketing perspective

By now you probably already know about Anheuser-Busch purchasing all of the advertising spots for this week’s (Oct. 17) Saturday Night Live (note the banner ad on the website).

A brief article in Brandweek quotes the president of  NBC Universal ad sales as saying the deal is the type of innovation the network is seeking with advertisers.

Meanwhile, A-B’s VP of marketing is quoted as saying the deal will allow the incorporation of, “Bud Light Golden Wheat authentically as part of the show’s content.”

The AB-SNL partnership is in line with a similar deal recently announced between Microsoft and the Fox series, Family Guy.
