My vacation is over, so what am I doing? Hanging out at the swimming pool taking pictures. It really isn’t a bad job to have. The assignment was to shoot pics for the standard hot weather story. You can see more photos from the Riverside Pool in the gallery.

My vacation is half-way over and my friends have been keeping me busier with my camera than the Journal does when I’m working. Last night I was photographing some friends as they practiced their fire performance.
The group, Pyrotic, will be performing this weekend at Awesome Biker Nights on Historic Fourth Street. The fire performances will be at 9:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday evenings across the street from McBehrs. Be sure to check out this performance.

I’ll be heading out for another vacation in a few minutes. No big road trip for this one. I’ve been working on a personal photo project that has been a lot of fun and I hope to make a lot of progress on that during my vacation.
And of course one of the major highlights of my vacation will be getting to see the Sioux City Roller Dames in action on Saturday, June 13th, as they take on the Slaughterhouse Derby Girls. Bout time is 7 p.m. at the Long Lines Family Rec Center.
And the following weekend will also be fun filled with Awesome Biker Nights. Again, the Biker Nights highlight will be a Roller Dames exhibition bout on Saturday, June 20, at 7 pm. Plus, for even more excitement, you can see Femme Brulee and her Pyrotic friends, who all happen to be members of the Sioux City Roller Dames, as they put on a fire performance around 9:30 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday nights the 19th and 20th.
