School board elections today

Voters across Iowa today are choosing their school board representatives.
For the Sioux City, Sergeant Bluff-Luton, River Valley and Westwood school districts, polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. For Anthon-Oto, Lawton-Bronson and Woodbury Central districts, they are open from noon to 8 p.m.
Five candidates are running for two open seats on the Sioux City Board of Education. They are Barbara Benson, Fred R. "Dick" Benton, Jim Hassenger, Walt Johnson and Maria Rundquist. Incumbents Anne James and Valorie Kruse did not seek re-election.
In the Westwood Community School District, five candidates are running for one open seat: Michelle Copple, John Kounas, Rhonda J. MacClure, Dale B. Smith and Kirk Douglas Wiggs.
While River Valley Board of Education incumbent Mary E. Todd is running uncontested for a director vacancy in District 3, incumbent Roy D. Linn is running against Kirk W. Utesch for the open seat in District 2.
The remaining Woodbury County school elections are uncontested.
Incumbents Norm Lang, Bob Rasmus and Deborah J. Cook are running for three open director positions for Western Iowa Tech Community College.
Bob Clausen is running for an open seat on the Anthon-Oto Board of Education.
Running for two open seats on the Lawton-Bronson school board are Steve Olson and Amy Denney.

Two candidates are running for two open seats on the Woodbury Central Board of Education, incumbent Jerry E. Steffen and Kari E. Bappe.
