LE MARS, Iowa -- Floyd Valley Hospital has been named one of the nation's 100 Top Hospitals by Solucient, the leading source of health care business intelligence.
The award recognizes hospitals that have achieved excellence in quality of care, operational efficiency, financial performance and adaptation to the environment. This is the first time that Floyd Valley Hospital has been recognized.
The 12th edition of Solucient's "100 Top Hospitals: National Benchmarks for Success" study appears in a special supplement to the Feb. 28 edition of Modern Healthcare magazine.
"All of us, the trustees, medical staff, employees and volunteers at Floyd Valley Hospital, are very proud to receive this kind of national recognition," stated Mike Donlin, hospital administrator. "It provides positive reinforcement for our vision to play a leading role in improving the health of our communities."
Jim Ryan, board of trustees chair, added, "The fact that this is not something that we applied for, that Solucient found us, made this a pleasant surprise. Scoring so well, especially in the areas of patient safety and growth in the community, compared to our median group speaks highly of the commitment that Floyd Valley Hospital has to serving our entire area."
