WITCC names corporate college dean

Martin Reimer has been named dean of the Corporate College at Western Iowa Tech Community College.
Reimer is responsible for managing the college team that provides corporate training and economic development programs to the business community. The team monitors business and demographic trends in the community, develops programs and partnerships to meet the needs of the region for education and qualified job candidates, monitors legislation and rulemaking as it relates to economic development, and contacts area economic developers to create incentives for businesses to expand or relocate in the region.
His other duties include developing, implementing, and maintaining Corporate College budget, strategic plan, standards, policies and procedures, seeking alternative funding resources, and preparing and administering grants.
Reimer was most recently a project manager with JPMorgan Chase Bank's Worldwide Securities Services group in Houston, Texas, and Tokyo, Japan. Previously he was a project manager for Trouvay & Cauvin, a global sourcing and logistics firm in the oil and gas industry, where he focused on markets in the Middle East, East Asia, and Latin America. He also taught fifth grade elementary at the Colegio Americano in Puebla, Mexico, which offers students a bilingual educational curriculum.
Reimer earned his bachelor's degree from Central College in Pella, Iowa, and a master of business administration in international management from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management in Glendale, Ariz. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in education with an emphasis in leadership for higher education through Capella University, Minneapolis.
