Alzheimer's names new CEO

Mary Jo Sikkema of Vermillion, S.D., has joined the Alzheimer’s Association, Big Sioux Chapter, as its new president and chief executive officer.
Most recently, Sikkema was an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, where she taught nonprofit management and leadership. She also has served as a consultant to the Vermillion Coalition Against Domestic Violence and managed the early childhood education program of Community Action Agency of Siouxland.
Sikkema's experience in the nonprofit world also includes collaborations with the Gerontology Network, Aquinas College and Grand Rapids Community College.
Sikkema will start Monday and will be present at the Association’s open house from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at 420 Chambers St.
