Posted: Friday, December 08, 2006
University of Northern Iowa representatives will be at Western Iowa Tech Community College Tuesday to discuss a B.A. degree program in elementary education with endorsements for students who cannot relocate to the UNI campus. An information session will be at 4 p.m., with repeat sessions at 5 and 6 p.m., in the WIT Campus Board Room A506.
The UNI degree program in elementary education teaching includes endorsement possibilities in special education, literacy education, early childhood and middle level. In partnership with WIT, the program is for individuals who have completed or are completing an A.A. degree, are place-bound or are changing careers.
Students take two years of courses WIT, two years of UNI courses and graduate with a UNI B.A. degree. Students go through the program as a cohort (group). The first class is Jan. 16.
