9:55 AM

Posted: Monday, January 08, 2007
The group pushing to fully four-lane U.S. 20 in western Iowa will hold a meeting in Holstein on Friday.

The U.S. 20 Corridor Association, which rotates monthly meetings in towns generally in the western half of Iowa, will meet at 10 a.m. at the Lohff-Schumann Recreation Center in Holstein. The meeting is open to the public.

Association members will discuss plans for a second U.S. 20 summit in Sioux City. The first summit was held in 2005 in Sioux City, and the one this year is being planned for April 13 at the Sioux City Convention Center.

Also at the Friday meeting, association members will hear an Iowa Department of Transportation planner discuss an expected $27 billion shortfall in highway construction needs over 20 years.
