St. Luke's will host pulmonary conference

St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center will host the Tri-State Pulmonary Care Conference from 8:30 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. Feb. 14.

Sponsored by St. Luke’s Institute for Health Education, the conference will provide information on the nocturnal respiratory treatment of neuromuscular disorders, sleep apnea, nicotine dependence treatment, chest trauma, cystic fibrosis and case presentations in critical care.

Conference presenters include Mark E. Dyken, M.D., director of neurology, Sleep Disorders Center, University of Iowa College of Medicine; Thomas R. Gauvin, M.A., CTTS, Nicotine Dependence Counselor, Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center; Richard A. Sidwell, M.D., FACS, physician and trauma surgeon, the Iowa Clinic Trauma and General Surgery; James W. Wallace, M.D., pediatric pulmonologist, director of South Dakota Cystic Fibrosis Center and medical director of pediatric pulmonary medicine, Sioux Valley Hospital, and Robert M. Stewart, M.D., pulmonologist in private practice, Pulmonary Associates.
