Mercy Air Care benefit dance March 2
Posted: Thursday, February 22, 2007
Mercy Air Care, the regional air ambulance program based at Mercy Medical Center-Sioux City, will benefit from the proceeds from a special "Spring Break" dance March 2 at the Sioux City Convention Center.
The popular band the Magnificent Board of Directors will play from 8 p.m. to midnight. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
"We are planning a very entertaining, enjoyable event that supports a good cause," explained Lea Clausen, executive director of the Mercy Medical Center Foundation.
"For two decades, Mercy Air Care has provided acute care to give thousands of people a second chance at life. This fundraiser will help with enhancements to the program like the purchase of additional medical equipment so more lives can be saved."
"Spring Break" tickets are $10 per person or $15 for two. VIP tickets are $75 each or $100 for two. Each VIP pass includes a complimentary annual membership in the Mercy Air Care Membership Program as well as entrance to the event's VIP raffle which will include such prizes as a Dakota Dunes Country Club golfing package and a wine package.
Established in 2004, the Mercy Air Care Membership Program also supports the services provided by Mercy Air Care. Regional residents paying an annual membership fee of $50 are entitled to several benefits. If they, their spouse or any unmarried dependents living in their household needs the services of Mercy Air Care, the hospital will bill their insurance company directly for any medically necessary flight and will accept that payment, regardless of the amount, as payment in full on their account. The program will even cover all air medical transport expenses if they do not have medical insurance.
Advance tickets for the benefit dance are available by calling the Mercy Medical Center Foundation at (712) 279-2223 or the Mercy Air Care headquarters at (712) 277-2015. Tickets also will be available at the door.
