Buy spring flowers to support good cause

Posted: Friday, February 23, 2007
This spring you can purchase beautiful flowers and help victims of violence in Siouxland.

The Council on Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence is selling spring flower deco-pots and hanging baskets as a fundraiser to maintain programs and services.

"If you enjoy our poinsettias during the holidays, you will really like these spring flowers," said Margaret Sanders, CSADV executive director. "We are excited to be working again with Mosher's Greenhouse and Landscaping to provide high-quality flowers from a local business."

The flowers can be picked up or delivered April 25 which is Administrative Professionals Day, May 1 and May 5.

The arrangements will boast purple/blue and yellow flowers, the official colors of CSADV, and be available in sun or shade varieties.

The flowers range from calibrachoa and argyranthemums to torenias and begonias and each arrangement will hold four to five blooming plants.

Quantities are limited and orders are being taken now. To place an order or obtain more information call CSADV at (712) 277-0131 or download an order form online at www.safefromabuse.com.

When you purchase spring flowers from CSADV you help support the mission of this agency which provides 24-hour, confidential, free services. Services include a crisis line, safe shelter, legal and medical advocacy, rural and faith-based outreach, education in the community and schools and counseling for all victims.

CSADV is a local, nonprofit, United Way agency serving Woodbury, Plymouth and Monona counties in Iowa, Dakota County in Nebraska and Union County in South Dakota. If you need help or want to help call 1-800-982-7233.
