Children in foster care after meth arrest

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Two young children were placed in emergency foster care Friday morning after Storm Lake police found what they believed to be methamphetamine in their home.

Officers executed a search warrant at 1115 Park St. on Friday while investigating illegal drug use there, the Storm Lake Police Department reported. Police seized the meth, unknown pills and drug paraphernalia in the search. The children were removed from the home by the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Charges are pending the outcome of tests that will be completed on the seized items at the Iowa Department of Criminal Investigation crime lab. Child endangerment charges are also pending following investigation.
