A former employee at a Carroll, Iowa, credit union pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges that she fraudulently obtained more than $362,000.

Robin Andersen, 44, of Odebolt, Iowa, entered her plea to four counts of bank fraud and two counts of money laundering in U.S. District Court in Sioux City.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul A. Zoss set trial for May 7.

A former branch manager for Advantage One Credit Union, Andersen was indicted last month and accused of using the names and identifiers of customers to obtain credit cards and loans from November 2000 through October 2004.

The indictment alleges that Andersen kept the proceeds of those actions for her own use and engaged in financial transactions designed to conceal the location of the fraudulent income.

If convicted, Andersen could face up to 30 years in prison on each count of fraud and 20 years for each money laundering count. She could be fined up to $5 million.

" Taking on the identity of others is a serious crime that will be hard to get under control with the new technology. For the people who do take others identities to benefit themselves need to stop and think about what it does to the people they are hurting. The damage left behind is hard to get passed and it is stuck with them forever. I have learned over the years that it is easier to pretend that you are someone else rather than prove that you are you. "

" I knew this woman years ago and she did the same thing to my dad. She weeds her way into your life and then takes everything you have and leaves. She is fake and deserves what is coming to her. I hope they can finally prove what she has been doing for years. She needs to be behind bars for a long time. That will still not help for the damage she has left behind but maybe it will stop her from future crimes and save others. "
