True happiness

Posted: Friday, July 27, 2007
SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- This is in response to a recent Letter to the Editor in which the writer said he is a happy atheist.

He may be a happy, compassionate and ethical person now, but when he faces his Maker he will not be happy if he does not believe in God. He needs to accept Jesus Christ as his savior. Only then will he be truly happy. -- Phyllis Hulstein

Not for me... wrote on Aug 22, 2007 6:58 AM:

" I read in the bible that the wages of sin was death. Adam and Eve decided to partake of the forbidden fruit. They were kicked out of Eden and died. Why do people keep dying if they paid their wage of sin??? Interesting huh. "

" Ya know something- we perish for lack of knowledge not lack of faith. Give up and satan wins- bad game plan. have u been diligent and met the conditions for the promises? then don't complain about lack of manifestation. just roll over and play dead , let satan have your soul, stupid , stupid , stupid plan. "

" Thats a good hook, but not really true for me anyways. Finding Christ was a horrible experience for me. Totally unhappy. Guess I want too much from him. I wanted to believe so much but my faith dwindled and my very soul was let down. They say a person who wants to believe is easily deceived. How can I trust someone who refuses to act. Selling the pot of the gold at the end of the rainbow. You never can get to it. Anyways, like I said, its a good hook. I guess maybe it is a state of mind. "

" End: everyone doesn't believe in someone's gods. The difference is, I don't care which gods you believe and don't believe in. Not only do you need a comp religion class, you might have a look at James 1:26 if that doesn't help. Maybe then you'll be happy? "
