Obama: 'A natural leader of extraordinary abilities and experience'
Posted: Sunday, September 09, 2007
SIOUX CITY -- Every few days The Journal prints Letters from people who think that everything President Bush does is wonderful and that we should be grateful that he is our president.
Unfortunately, this president has led America into one strategic disaster after another in the world. This president has bled our treasury and our brave troops, and told us that unless we agree with his actions we are not patriotic Americans. And now there is a White House-based group that is flooding the television airwaves with the message that "victory" in Iraq is our only choice, and anything else is "surrender to the terrorists."
America desperately needs a new leader, and the world cries out for a new president that will bring America back to our tradition of respect for our constitutional rights, respect for our international partnerships, a president who will uphold the Geneva Conventions, and a president who will work to keep America safe without snooping into our lives.
Barack Obama is a natural leader of extraordinary abilities and experience who will lead America back from the ugly path we've strayed down. Senator Obama has experience bringing people together to solve big, difficult problems as well as the ability to set a new tone and chart a new direction for our country.
President Bush continues to ignore our Constitution, but Barack Obama, a man who has taught constitutional law and has a deep appreciation of the amazing system of checks and balances the founding fathers created, is determined to return America to the rule of law and respect for the Constitution.
I urge you to stand up for Barack Obama on caucus night, and stand with him to restore America's decency and greatness. -- Richard Mullin
