Posted: Wednesday, September 12, 2007
The fabulous singing, smooth stepping and flawless presentation that have made the Temptations a staple of American style for more than 40 years will come to Sioux City this Christmas for a holiday concert filled with flair, flash and class.

Founding member Otis Williams will lead a pack of ear-resistible voices backed by a 10-piece horn section in a night filled with memories beginning at 8 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Orpheum Theater.

Tickets are priced at $42 and $37 and can be purchased beginning Saturday by going online at {M3www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at (712) 252-3434 or in person at the Tyson Events Center Box Office, 401 Gordon Drive from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Ask about group discounts for 10 or more people.

The soulful sound that started it all began with a song written and produced by Smokey Robinson called "The Way You Do the Things You Do." An avalanche of Top Ten hits followed, kicked off with what became the Temptations’ signature song, a number one R&B and pop hit called "My Girl."

The Temptations glided through the 1960s with another Robinson hit, "Get Ready," followed by "(I Know) I’m Losing You," "I Wish It Would Rain" and others. They swung into the 1970s with the chart-topping ballad, "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me)," then turned out classics like "Superstar (Remember How You Got Where You Are)" and the brilliant number one single, "Papa Was a Rolling Stone."

Over the years, the Temptations' take on holiday standards have helped make the season bright with harmonious versions of "White Christmas," "The Christmas Song," "Let It Snow," "Christmas Everyday" and "This Christmas."

This Christmas in Sioux City, the supergroup with more than 22 million albums sold and three Grammy awards will give concert-goers a musical gift guaranteed to lift spirits with a room-rocking Motown celebration.
