Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie to perform in Sioux City
Posted: Thursday, September 13, 2007
Two-time Grammy Award winner Ozzy Osbourne will perform Nov. 4 at Tyson Events Center with special guest Rob Zombie.
The tour stop is part of a massive 40-show North American fall tour in support of Osbourne's latest album, "Black Rain," his first record of new studio material in six years. The tour also marks Osbourne's first U.S. arena tour in six years.
"Black Rain" entered the Billboard pop album chart at No. 3. The first single, "I Don't Wanna Stop," is Osbourne's biggest rock song to date, spending 20 weeks at No. 1 on the R&R Rock Chart. The track is also featured on the video game "Madden NFL '08."
To date, Osbourne has sold more than 100 million albums as a member of Black Sabbath and as a solo artist combined.
Rob Zombie begins the tour coming off the heels of a successful job directing the hit film "Halloween," which grossed an estimated $43 million in its first two weeks. Zombie's return to live performances coincides with the release of his first-ever live album, "Zombie-Live," which is due out Oct. 23.
Zombie has sold more than 15 million albums worldwide and remains one of Geffen Records' top-selling artists. Zombie last performed in Sioux City in 2002 at a concert that was met with resistance from some community leaders who claimed Zombie promoted satanic messages.
Show time and ticket prices have not yet been announced. Tickets go on sale at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 29 at the Tyson Event Center/Gateway Arena Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations and online at www.ticketmaster.com, or charge by phone at (712) 252-3434.
