In advance of the Divided We Fail presidential candidate forum in Sioux City, on Monday night the Sioux City Council proclaimed October Divided We Fail Month in Sioux City.
The council made the proclamation during the regular Monday meeting. Divided We Fail senior campaign coordinator Pete Jeffries said having support of the council, Siouxland Chamber of Commerce and the Journal as local media partner "is an integral part of making this event a huge success.
Divided We Fail is holding the forum to raise the issue of health care and financial security to the presidential candidates campaigning in Iowa. To date, Mike Huckabee and John McCain have confirmed participation.
The forum will be held at the Orpheum Theatre from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 25. More than 500 tickets have already been requested for the forum, which will be broadcast nationally by PBS.
To attend the forum, tickets may be requested at (877) 926-8300 or at www.dividedwefail.org/forums.
