IOWA

Alta (4-2) at Newell-Fonda (5-1)

The teams are each 4-0 in Class A District 3. Alta has outscored its opponents 142-18 while winning its last four games, which include consecutive shutouts over Odebolt-Arthur (36-0) and Schaller-Crestland (50-0). Newell-Fonda has won its last five games, three by one touchdown or less. Josh Hopper has rushed for 715 yards and seven touchdowns for the Mustangs while Spencer Baak has 514 yards and nine TDs.

Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley (4-2) at Sioux Center (4-2)

Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley and Sheldon are deadlocked for second place in Class 2A District 1 at 3-1. The Nighthawks' Colby Wegter, has topped 100 yards rushing five times this season and has 716 yards with four touchdowns. B-H/RV has also yielded two touchdowns or less in two of its last three games. Sioux Center's defense has allowed an average of 9.6 points. Aaron Rozeboom has passed for 801 yards and nine touchdowns for the Warriors.

Spencer (4-2) at Denison-Schleswig (4-2)

Spencer, after losing consecutive games to Bishop Heelan and Le Mars, rolled to a 45-26 win over Storm Lake, paced by Skylar Konrady, who rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns. Sporting a 2-2 mark in Class 3A District 1, the Tigers are one game behind Denison-Schleswig and Le Mars. The Monarchs, who play at Le Mars next Friday, will try to bounce back from a 28-3 loss to Heelan, where 6-5, 270-pound sophomore quarterback Brandon Scherff completed just 5 of 19 passes for 59 yards.

NEBRASKA

Wakefield (6-0) at Pender (5-1)

Defending C2 state champion Wakefield has outscored its opponents 258-74. Four Trojans have 300 or more yards rushing, led by fullback Ian Miner (455 yards, 6 TDs) and quarterback Joel Nixon (384, 6). Pender has faced tougher competition, falling 33-8 to undefeated Laurel-Concord while winning by a combined 12 points over Oakland-Craig, Neligh-Oakdale and West Point Central Catholic, teams that have combined for a 10-8 record.

SOUTH DAKOTA

Dakota Valley (6-0) at Wagner (5-1)

It's a matchup of state-ranked Class 11B teams. Second-ranked Dakota Valley hasn't played since a 7-6 home win over Elk Point-Jefferson on Sept. 28. Panther quarterback Josh Van Den Hul has passed for 628 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for 296 yards and five touchdowns. Fourth-ranked Wagner escaped with a 28-27 win in two overtimes over EP-J as Chase Kuhlman passed for 251 yards and three scores. Wagner won last year's game over Dakota Valley, 28-21.
