Why won't Congress act on oil prices?
Posted: Thursday, November 15, 2007
SIOUX CITY -- With the price of oil climbing ever higher, and soon to pass the $100- per-barrel mark, why won't Congress act? Why won't Congress allow drilling in ANWR, or in the Gulf of Mexico, or off of California? There is enough oil in these areas, to make us energy independent. Even if the drilling of oil makes you squeamish, why has Congress not acted to build more nuclear power stations, or given incentives to build more oil refineries?
With winter coming, it appears as if the Democrats in control of Congress are perfectly willing to allow the American people to freeze to death, rather than act. It is time to throw the lazy bums out. -- Mark Solheim
