'1984' will be broadcast from Orpheum

One of three radio dramas presented by the Great Plains Radio Theatre Project on stage at the Orpheum Theater Oct. 18 will be broadcast at 10 a.m. Sunday on KWIT/KOJI FM radio.
KWIT-KOJI will broadcast the 1949 radio adaptation of George Orwell's classic novel, "1984." The radio adaptation was written by Milton Wayne and starred actor David Niven. The story, which coined the phrase, "Big Brother is watching you!" portrays the world of the future in which the government controls the thoughts, words and deeds of its citizens.
The Great Plains Radio Theatre Project is a nonprofit group that presents live radio drama and utilizes actors from the Sioux City community as well as Western Iowa Tech Community College staff and students.
