At this moment in history, America needs John McCain as president

Posted: Thursday, December 06, 2007
SIOUX CITY -- John McCain was uniquely created to serve as president during this time in history. First, he is the ultimate patriot, having served in our military and shown his deep love for our nation in a way that most of us can't bear to imagine. Second, a lifetime of experience has given him a quiet humility that guides his toughest choices. Third, he wants to serve as president, not to prove himself or to collect accolades, but because our country needs his form of steady leadership now.

The next four years will be made up of hard choices with little glory and will require John McCain’s work ethic, experience and unshakable commitment to do what is right. Finally in a world full of deeply conflicting views, it is sometimes hard to know who is telling the truth and the fact is that John McCain is honest about where he and we stand as a nation.

John McCain is the candidate with the ability to lead America through this difficult time in our history. The person that moves into the White House in January 2009 will inherit a nation under threat by global terrorism, anxious about our economic strength and feeling some insecurity about our future in a way that many of our citizens have never lived through before. It is during our greatest struggles that we have determined the kind of nation we will be. This election is a critical moment.

John McCain is a proven pro-life advocate, stands for traditional family values and will appoint pro-life conservative judges. John McCain’s marrow is the factor that sets him apart as a true leader. I know John McCain and I know that he will lead our nation towards strength and prosperity again. -- Barb Vakulskas

" Many politicians walk and talk in two different directions. A little research would tell any simple-minded person this, be it research in the history of past presidents or a deeper research into a candidates voting policies. With todays modern internet it is easily done, yet I see many looking no further than their television to follow whatever they are told. I hope you do vote for McCain and I hope you get what you deserve without doing the research yourself. "

" McCain lost all credibility when he sold his sould to the Devil (GOP, blind Bush followers). As always, I read a reply bringing up 'Pro-Life'. When will consevative voters wake up and realize that 1) of all the problems/issue that could be fixed this is minor and could be remedied with education and birth control 2) the candidates only really bring this issue up at specific rally points to incite voters, it is almost never acted upon 3) a true conservative president would never spend what GWB has spent on an illegal war. " I have a lot of respect for McCain but I can't for the life of me understand why he supported the amnesty for Illegals bill. His home state is up to its eyebrows in Illegals and he thinks they would leave and come back legally? I say we seal the border with our military and offer a $50.00 bounty on Illegal's heads. It would be cheap compared to what they cost us now. They are destroying our towns with gangs and drugs. Abusing our welfare system, taking American jobs, driving down wages not to mention costs in our schools and hospitals. They also steal the identity of legal Hispanics like me.There are Republicans with stronger stands on this issue.None of the Democrats have the guts to address the issue. "

" McCains a war monger in a country where 80% are against it. McCains a drug warrior, yet his wife stole prescription drugs and got away with it, yet we incarcerate kids for pot. Nothing honest about that. Ron Paul is much better choice. "
