On Sept. 11, 2001, when the planes hit the twin towers, our monthly medical insurance premiums were about $250 a month. Within 3 or 4 years, our premiums had gone up to $800 a month. It seems that all of those premiums that we paid went somewhere else, so that when there were things to be paid, they had to start charging more to make up for their loses. Does anyone know what insurance companies do with our premiums? I would think they should be set aside in some kind of a fund to be ready when needed like we would have savings accounts for when an emergency arises.
