Edwards is man for the job
Posted: Wednesday, December 26, 2007
SERGEANT BLUFF, Iowa -- Corporate America owns Washington. It's that simple. You and I see it everyday, but it's so hard for us to do anything about it. We can't afford our own lobbyists and it doesn't help that politicians say they're going to help us while they cash checks from the greedy corporations that take advantage of working Americans like you and me. These corporations aren't going to come forward and admit what they're doing and the politicians in Washington aren't going to admit that they are beholden to corporate interests. It's time for some serious change and the only way to get that is if we elect a president who we can trust to fight for us.
When he's president, John Edwards is going to hold corporations accountable for their actions by enacting a new "Corporate Citizen" disclosure law requiring all businesses to disclose in annual reports to shareholders, their regulators and the public about their social activities, including lobbying and government contracts and their business practices. He's also going to enforce existing labor laws, strengthen employees' rights and put an end to exorbitant executives' pay.
I know we can trust John Edwards to make the changes we need because he's the only candidate who's never taken a dime from lobbyists or PACs. The only way to foster transparency in our government is by electing someone with the backbone and leadership to show everyone else how it's done. John Edwards is the man for the job and I hope you'll join me in supporting him on caucus night. -- Leonard Dwenger

Those of you that are arguing against his policies are speaking in support of the same policies that got us to were this country is today. A debtor nation, fewer and fewer good jobs, and the rich getting richer at the expense of everyone else.
Think of what some balance would bring in all of those important economic policies. Only small changes in trade, tax and employment policies will change America's working families' future opportunities for decades.
If providing fair trade, and decent jobs for Americans is protectionism then let's do it. "

The truth is below from Slate;
"In its filings with the Federal Elections Commission, John Edwards' campaign disclosed that the candidate received two $400 haircuts from a Beverly Hills stylist this year. What do you get for a $400 haircut? A house call, for one thing. The stylist who cut Edwards' hair, Joseph Torrenueva."
Edwards could have walked into any Iowa barbershop, but when you've made a fortune being an ambulance chasing attorney why mix it up with the common folk of Iowa.
