Posted: Saturday, December 29, 2007
LE MARS, Iowa -- "New York! New York!" once again will be the theme for the third annual New Year's Eve Ball hosted by the Plymouth County Historical Museum.

Doors to the Museum's "Old Central" Gym will open at 7 p.m. Monday with the serving of free hors d'oeuvrves. Dance music will begin at 8 p.m. The Cliff McMurray Quintet will perform, along with vocalist Pat Bottjen.

At 11 p.m., the evening will wrap up with the dropping of the ball from the gym ceiling and the viewing of the Times Square festivities in New York City.

A silent auction is set for 10 p.m. The museum also will unveil a grandfather clock, which a museum supporter has donated to be given away during the year as a fundraiser.

Businesses throughout the county are sponsoring the event to help cover the expenses of the ball. All proceeds from the ball will go to the museum.

Tickets are available at the Museum by calling 546-7002.
