WITCC managers complete internal training

Fifty-two Western Iowa Tech Community College managers graduated Dec. 5 from an internal college training program in high performance management.

The program, which is routinely offered to the Siouxland business community, was customized to Western Iowa Tech's policies, procedures and practices. Topics included leadership style, legal considerations of managing, managing a younger workforce, and time management. The customized components were directed by the college’s executive council.

Of the 52 managers, 17 had previously taken the course and had enrolled for a refresher program: Tawnya Beermann, Sharon Dykshoorn, Kyle Hueser, Sharon Messerschmidt, Brian D. Smith, Mike Brown, Diane Hargens, Theresa L. Jackson, Doug Neemann, Linda Clausen, Emma Hewitt, Sara Klatt, Larry Obermeyer, Dan Danielson, Amy Hueser, Bill Koontz and Maria Slaughter.

New to the program were Christina Brandon, Don Duzik, Jo Fokken, Ed Koster, Deb Muller, Bob Schmeckpeper, Darla Struck, Lora VanderZwaag, Dan Wubbena, Chris Case, Steve Ebsen, Jason Geary, Chul Lee, Kamali Muthukrishnan, Gene Sokolowski, Jill Sullivan, Lori Vonheeder, Carolyn Ellwanger, Ragen Cote, Rick Ferris, Gretchen Gondek, John Milroy, Barb Nyreen, Gloria Stewart, Tricia Sutherland,

Jeff Vore, Cindy Zortman, Eddie Dunn, Curt Fiechtner, Larry Joines, Nancy Muecke, LuAnn Ruba, Greg Strong, Ralph Swain and Tom Walker.

The program instructors for the full high performance management course were Carmen Wilson, WITCC project coordinator, Corporate College; David Gregory, regional training manager, Qwest; and Joe McCulley, senior corporate trainer, Qwest Customer Service & Sales.

The program instructors for the refresher component were Kim Olsen, WITCC project manager and director of employee development, Corporate College;, and Angela Lawson, WITCC project manager, Corporate College.
