Charger wrestlers upset No. 7 Dana

Briar Cliff picked up one of its biggest wrestling victories in front of the hometown crowd at the Newman Flanagan Center Friday night.
Jeff Miller started the match with a pin and the Chargers opened up an early 19-0 lead en route to a 37-18 upset over seventh-ranked Dana College during Great Plains Athletic Conference action.
Miller, a 125-pounder, pinned Teddy Gillespie in 4:05. Briar Cliff, now 1-4-1 in duals, followed with technical fall triumphs for Julian Gunnels (133) and Brent Lowe (141), while Cody Runge (149) added an 11-4 victory over Marcos Martinez.
Briar Cliff also got pins from James Shrader (165), Jordaryl Logan (184) and Waylon Goldsmith (Heavyweight).
Gunnels, Lowe, Logan and 141-pounder Zack Mullins have already qualified for the NAIA national tournament. Logan tops the team with a 15-7 record while Gunnels is 12-7.
