SIOUX CITY -- The Field Museum of Natural History, Chicago Sky (WNBA) and the University of Illinois Medical Center - Rehabilitation Services were among several locations where nine Briar Cliff University juniors and seniors served internships during Chicago Semester.

The BCU interns will hold a panel discussion on their Chicago Semester experiences at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Stark Student Center on the Briar Cliff campus.

During Briar Cliff's fall term, the students worked at Chicago institutions and organizations such as the Office of Mayor of Chicago, YWCA of Metro Chicago -- Marketing/Development, Casa Center -- Intact Family Department, Cook County Juvenile Court Training Division/Probation, John Reilly Photography, Integrys Energy Group/Peoples Gas and Lake View Lutheran Church.

While in Chicago, Briar Cliff interns lived downtown and participated in practicum groups for overall support as a part of the Chicago Semester program. BCU students also attended thematic seminars to connect their everyday experiences to larger questions about society.

Founded in 1974 by six Christian colleges, Chicago Semester offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to experience the challenges of living and working in an urban setting while pursuing their career goals. Students participating in Chicago Semester pay tuition, room and board to their universities which is applied toward their internship living expenses.
