Rock Show Revisits

SLOAN, Iowa -- Three rock impersonators -- Pete Peterkin, Darryl Croy and Ray Anthony -- will perform the Originators of Rock show at 8 p.m. Saturday at WinnaVegas Casino.

The show, which features the music of rock legends Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ritchie Valens, is backed by a Rock-a-Billy rhythm sections.

February marks the 50th anniversary of the Grammy Awards, in which Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard performed just over one week ago; it also marks the 49th anniversary of the "Day the Music Died," the plane crash near Clear Lake that claimed the lives of Valens, Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper.

The Originators of Rock show will salute all three artists with renditions of their most popular hits. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 day-of-show. To purchase tickets, call (800) 468-9466 or get them at the door.
