Nebraska college enrollement tops 47,000.

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Enrollment is up 3.3 percent this semester at the Nebraska's three state colleges, the Nebraska State College System reported.
"More students are choosing to attend our colleges and more are graduating and becoming successful in their chosen field," system chancellor Stan Carpenter said Monday.
The state system includes Chadron, Peru and Wayne state colleges, which currently have a combined enrollment of almost 8,000 students.
The rising enrollment mirrors a similar trend at University of Nebraska campuses. School administrators said in September that the system had 10 percent more students for the current school year than the previous year.
Total enrollment at all the Nebraska campuses is more than 47,000.
