Morningside hosts family weekend April 4-6

SIOUX CITY -- A talent show featuring musical performances by Morningside College faculty, staff and students will be one of the highlights of the college's 2008 Family Weekend "Look at Us Now!" Friday through Sunday.

SIOUX CITY -- A talent show featuring musical performances by Morningside College faculty, staff and students will be one of the highlights of the college's 2008 Family Weekend "Look at Us Now!" Friday through Sunday.

The talent show begins at 8 p.m. Saturday in Eppley Auditorium on the Morningside campus.

Families of Morningside students will have the opportunity to attend a variety of events on and off campus during 2008 Family Weekend. Activities begin Friday with the Sioux City Concert Course presentation of The Dutton Family at 7:30 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium. A special midnight movie screening at Carmike Cinemas in the Southern Hills Mall will close out Friday's schedule of events.

On Saturday, a Mustangs softball double-header against Nebraska Wesleyan College begins at 1 p.m. at the Elizabeth and Irving Jensen Softball Complex on Morningside's campus. Judy Leinen, a music major from Des Moines will present her senior recital at 4 p.m. in Eppley Auditorium.

On Sunday, students and their families can choose from a softball or baseball double-header. The softball team plays Bellevue University at 1 p.m. at the Elizabeth and Irving Jensen Softball Complex. The baseball team plays Dakota Wesleyan University at 1:30 p.m. at Lewis and Clark Park.
