" Blacks today have the same opportunities as, say, whites in Appalachia or in earlyday Nebraska.
I am white, was born in a hovel, but, with parents' help, pulled myself up, got the free education provided by the state, but without any other government aid, and got on with my life. In Nebraska and Iowa, there were very few blacks in Nebraska and Iowa at the time. The really persecuted were, and are, the Indians on reservations throughout the area. Neither state owes its black residents a dime in reparations. "

" NO! It will not change the past. It will only open the door for more aggravation in the courts. I never owened a slave nor would I. But I am part Indian and i know White Men and Black men alike killed my ancestors, took the land, took away the language and heritage. I can't change that either. But if people learn to live for the future and betterment of man kind, only then can this country become successfull and prosper. Stop looking to the past , but learn from it. "

" Placing Blame is a loser's game. Blame your circumstances on some one else rather than take control of your life and make something of yourself. if you want to see the person who is holding you back, all you need do is look in a mirror. "
