Wayne State announces Businss Day winners

WAYNE, Neb. -- Tekamah-Herman took first place in the annual Business Competition Day at Wayne State College Thursday.

More than 350 students from 30 area Nebraska high schools competed.
Columbus Lakeview ranked second and Wayne High ranked third. Each winning school will receive a Business Competition Day scholarship to award to a graduating senior planning to major in business next fall at Wayne State College.
Coleridge defeated Lyons-Decatur to capture the College Bowl title; Columbus Lakeview defeated West Point-Beemer in the Datamania event. Cedar Rapids won the advertising "highway billboard" event. E.J. Brodecky of Howells won the sales presentation event and Tekamah-Herman won the Web Wizardry Web design event. Lyons-Decatur won the business plan event for an entrepreneurial business in their community.
Cori Renner of Howells won the keyboarding -- 3-minute timed writing event, typing 83 words per minute; Sarah Schulte of Wynot won the keyboarding II 5-minute timed writing event, with a speed of 92 words per minute. The winner of the faculty type-off event was business teacher Diana Davis of Wayne High School, typing 97 wpm.
