Everyone will adjust

SIOUX CITY -- We'll all get through this smoking-in-public-places ban. It's frustrating and maddening to some (being an ex-smoker, I understand). But I also think that in the end, the health benefits will be shown to be well worth it.

It's a positive national movement that I am proud we have chosen to join. -- Larry Johns

" I'm finally going to try and become a bartender after this!! I've waited so long but could never deal with the smoke. I'm so excited. "

" Leah Cauthron this is not about smoking. Th is about the Sate thinking that the people of Iowa are to stupid to take care of themselves. This is about the state thinking that you are a child, and not mature enough to handle freedom. This is about the Sate taking away the God given right of Self Determination from the Property and Business owners. This is about the State taking a giant step toward Communism. "

" But what about me and all of the people who go gaming at the state licensed casinos?? Aren't the Democrates in the legislature and Governor Chet going to protect me from second hand smoke while I drop my money into the slots at the state licensed casinos?? Who's going to protect meeeee??? Since the self-rightous dems are in the business of protecting people why are they abandoning me and the employees of the casinos who are forced to work there and breath in smoke. Too bad the small business owners don't have the same kind of money as the casinos to pay off Chet and his tax and spend buddies in the legislature to look the other way. "

" If you choose to do something to harm yourself, go ahead but when that choice puts me and my family at risk then stay home and do it in the privacy of your own space. You can inhale twice that way. Not to mention the cost of your healthcare because of your choices and all the money you wasted on your nasty habit could have paid for your own doctor bill. It's a good move and it's about time. "

" John Vodochodsky, It really hurts to discover that all of the miseries of the past Century were perpetrated by Socialist doesnt it. Over 150 million dead as a result of socialists and communists. Kind of makes you wonder where the Socialists, and progressives of the Democratic Party are trying to take us. "
