JEFFERSON, S.D. -- Dirt track auto racing returned to the high-banked oval at Raceway Park Sunday night with Mitch Dowhower of Homer, Neb., winning the Street Stocks feature and Jake Walding taking the checkers in the Hobby Stocks main in the season-opening show.

Racing at the former Interstate Speedway also included action in B-Mods, Pro Hornets and Hornets.

During the Hobby Stocks feature, Josh Ruschmann escaped injury when his car flipped several times after hitting the backstretch wall. His car ended up tangled with Rusty Montange's racer, but the two drivers were unhurt in the mishap.

In the entry-level Hornets division, Dan Loggins drove to his first career victory and Donna Roupe, making her debut on the high banks, finished fourth. Randy Cass won the Pro Hornets feature.
