Posted: Friday, May 16, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- Sioux City police are looking for a man who allegedly robbed two Kum & Go stores Thursday morning.

At 3:47 a.m. Thursday officers responded to a call of an armed robbery at the Kum & Go store, 1401 Court St. At 4:32 a.m. officers were dispatched to a second armed robbery at Kum & Go, 2930 Gordon Drive.

During both robberies the suspect was armed with a handgun and demanded money from the store clerk, according to police.

Police said in a statement that the suspect is described as a black male, who is 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie, black mask and white gloves.

The suspect's description, police said, matches the description of the suspect in two prior robberies which occurred on April 20 and 30 at Kum & Go, 2035 South Lakeport St.

Anyone with information about these crimes is encouraged to contact crime stoppers at 258-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 may be be available based on information leading to the suspect. Kum & Go is also offering a separate reward.

" Just wondering but in the article it said the man was wearing a hoodie, black mask and white gloves. But the sentence before said that the suspect was descibed as a black male. How is this possible if the suspect in question was completely covered. Just a thought. Sioux City police need to see that and ask themselves if anything about that is funny. "

" How about closing these Kum n Go's on the overnight shift. Obviously this man is going to keep robbing and then someone is going to get hurt. The only other solution is maybe hiring police services. 4 robberies in a month, enough is enough. "
