Bishop Heelan graduates

Bishop Heelan High School will award diplomas to the 107 members of the Class of 2008 at 2 p.m. Sunday at Long Lines Family Rec Center.

Bishop Heelan High School will award diplomas to the 107 members of the Class of 2008 at 2 p.m. Sunday at Long Lines Family Rec Center.

The ceremony will begin with the processional "Pomp and Circumstance" by the Bishop Heelan High School Band under the direction of Michael Prichard. Senior Molly Ann Twohig will sing the National Anthem.

Valedictorian Hannah Louise Maly and Salutatorian Christina Marie Lopez will then address their fellow graduates. Dean of Students Christian Bork will present the class of 2008 and give the call to graduation.

Bishop R. Walker Nickless of the Sioux City Dioces and the Rev. Patrick R. Walsh, president of Bishop Heelan Catholic Schools will award the diplomas as well as the honor presentations.

Senior Anna Marie Hittle will sing the "Ava Maria" accompanied by fellow graduate Shantelle Julianna Dykstra and Bishop Heelan music instructor Chris Storm.

Bishop Nickless will make the final salute to the graduates. Student Council President Kathryn Marie Moore will lead the graduates in the prayer of St. Francis.

The recessional, "The United Nations March," will be performed by the Bishop Heelan High School Band.
