Noteboom survives restarts

JEFFERSON, S.D. - Jay Noteboom, starting toward the back of the pack, used the high groove to reel in the field and eventually win the IMCA Modifieds feature Saturday night at Park Jefferson.
Greg Peck was the early leader in the Modifieds main, leading for 14 tours in the 25-lapper until Noteboom took the lead on the 15th lap.
The Hinton driver then survived several restarts to cruise to the checkers in front of Jesse Cowles of Council Bluffs, Mike Jensen of Sioux City and Reese Coffee of Hinton.
Reigning national champion Chris Abelson of Sioux City won a heat and the feature in the SportMods division, leading from green to the checkers.
Jason Ward won the Stock Cars feature, Josh Ruschmann won the Hobby Stocks, Jeff Barber claimed the B-Mods main and the Hornets features went to Eli Zevenbergen and Austin Pinney.
