Clinton LumberKings offer peanut-free ballgame

CLINTON, Iowa (AP) -- Clinton's minor league baseball park is going peanut free on Monday so peanut-allergic fans can enjoy the game.
No peanuts or peanut products will be served during the night game between the Clinton LumberKings and the Beloit Snappers. The stadium will be washed down to avoid any risks.
Organizer Christy Campie's 7-year-old son, Eric, has a life-threatening peanut allergy. She says he's passionate about baseball and attends the LumberKings' games, but has to be very cautious.
Campie says the event is being sponsored by Enjoy Life Foods and Peanut Free Planet, two companies that specialize in manufacturing foods free of all the top eight major food allergens: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat.
