AGP worker injured in fall

Posted: Thursday, May 22, 2008
SIOUX CITY -- An Ag Processing Inc. worker was injured Wednesday morning when he slipped and fell into a rail car.

The accident happened at approximately 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at AGP Inc.'s plant at the Sioux City-area Port Neal Industrial Complex.

Mike Maranell, AGP senior vice president, said the employee was taken by Mercy Air Care to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

"Why and how this person slipped and fell, we don't know," Maranell said. "It's being investigated."

Maranell said the company is not releasing the injured employee's name due to privacy policies.
