Memorial Day services planned in Sioux City

Memorial Day services are planned Monday in three Sioux City cemeteries, Calvary, Floyd and Memorial Park.
The Knights of Columbus will sponsor a Memorial Day Mass at 9 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery.
Members of American Legion posts 64 and 697 and the Disabled American Veterans will participate in the Memorial Day service at 9 a.m. in Floyd Cemetery. The program will include remarks by Clarence Carney, the laying of a wreath by Esther Johnson and Sylvia Fuller, the invocation and benediction by the Rev. Paul Speidel and Taps by Pete Hittle.
The Color Guard of the 185th Air Refueling Wing, Iowa Air National Guard, will present a history of U.S. flags during the Memorial Day service at 11:15 a.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery. Master Sgt. Dan Roupe of the 185th Air Refueling Wing will be the featured speaker. Cleo Pottorff will be the master of ceremonies and the Rev. Paul Speidel will given the invocation and benediction. The service also will include a 21-gun salute and Taps.
