Police investigate Morningside stabbing

SIOUX CITY -- Sioux City police are searching for a suspect who stabbed a man Wednesday night near Morningside College.
Police were called about 9:25 p.m. Wednesday to 1315 South Paxton, where officers said they found a man suffering from a stab wound to his abdomen.
Sioux City Police Sgt. Mike Post said the man was stabbed while fighting with another man inside the residence, where both were attending a party.
Police said the man's injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
Officers were still searching Wednesday night for the suspect, who fled in a vehicle, but did arrest one man from inside the house as a material witness.
The incident happened about a block from the northwest edge of Morningside's campus and just up South Paxton Street from Elwood Olsen Stadium.
Authorities have not released information about the identities of the alleged attacker or the victim.
