The Clinton's last campaign gasp?
Bill Clinton comes to Vermillion tonight as primary wraps up

As his wife continues her quest to win the Democratic presidential nomination, former President Bill Clinton will campaign tonight in Vermillion, S.D.
It could be the last time a Clinton campaigns in the tri-state area.
Hillary Clinton, who trails Barack Obama in the delegate count prior to the last-in-the-nation Tuesday South Dakota and Montana primaries, isn't expected to campaign again in southeast South Dakota prior to the primary. So it may be the final Clinton campaign event on Siouxland turf, the last chance to see firsthand either of the two who have greatly impacted the national political landscape for two decades.
Bill Clinton will speak at 7:15 tonight near Old Main on the University of South Dakota campus. Liz Merrigan of rural Spink, the Union County Democratic Party secretary, likely will be there to take it in.
"I would rather it would be she because I think she is a very strong, resourceful woman to whom I give great support," Merrigan said.
She said she will vote for Hillary Clinton Tuesday, when 15 South Dakota delegates are at stake. But Merrigan said "it does seem that (Clinton) may not be the nominee," so her pursuit of the presidency could soon end.
Similarly, Max Delaney of McCook Lake, S.D. said he figures the Vermillion event could be the last oportunity to see a Clinton in person in southeast South Dakota in this election cycle.
The Clintons, beginning with Hillary Clinton stopping in Sioux City just over a year ago on Memorial Day weekend 2007, made numerous appearances in northwest Iowa prior to the Jan. 3 Iowa caucuses, the first contest in the nomination process. When it became apparentin May that the Democratic nomination process would extend to the very end of the 50 states, the Clintons began making stops in South Dakota.
Delaney has decided he will vote for Obama Tuesday, as will most of the people in his circle of friends in the Dakota Dunes area, he said. But he's intrigued to see the former president, and Delaney said he might have gone if the family didn't already have Friday plans.
Merrigan said there could be a sizable crowd to see the 42nd president tonight in what she called a great venue by Old Main.
"They might go see him because he is a brilliant politician and supportive of his wife's efforts," Merrigan said.
