Westwood downs No. 11 Logan-Magnolia

SLOAN, Iowa -- Katie Walker's double in the bottom of the seventh inning plated Haley Evans with the winning run as Westwood downed 11th-ranked (Class 2A) Logan-Magnolia 2-1 in a non-conference game Monday.
Evans also had a double in the seventh and was 3-for-4 for the Rebels, now 9-9. Jordan Kerns scatterd three hits and fanned six to get the pitching win for Westwood.
Casey Charbonneau had an RBI-double for Logan-Magnolia, now 12-2.
IKM 4, MVAO 3
MAPLETON, Iowa -- Manilla IKM held off Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto 4-3 here Monday night.
IKM scored three unearned runs in the first inning thanks to two errors. Losing pitcher Sara Brouillette gave up just three hits and one earned run while striking out 11.
Steph Petersen had three hits for Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto, which scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh and had the tying run on third and the winning run on second when the game ended.
MVAO is now 12-6 overall.
