SIOUX CITY -- Officers say two Illinois residents could face federal drug charges after police confiscated what they call a significant amount of crack cocaine at a house on Douglas Street.

Sioux City Police Officer Troy Hansen said on Friday evening officers entered a house at 1220 Douglas St. to serve a probation violation warrant on one of the occupants. While inside, officers discovered $4,500 and 3.5 ounces, or 92 grams, of what is believed to be crack cocaine.

Hansen said Jeremy Lee Mondy, 22, of Illinois and Darryl Devon Fields, 29, of Harvey, Ill., could face federal drug charges, because the amount of crack cocaine allegedly found inside the house far exceeds five grams, the amount required to pursue federal charges.

Both were booked into the Woodbury County Jail on one charge each of misdemeanor criminal trespassing.

On Saturday, Mondy was being held at the Woodbury County Jail for the U.S. Marshal Service and Fields was being held for the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Two people from the Douglas Street residence were arrested on charges of keeping a disorderly house and two more were charged with frequently a disorderly house, Hansen said.

Also on Friday, officers arrested Heather Christine Coyle, 34, of Sioux City after an officer and his police dog found drug paraphernalia and what is believed to be four grams of methamphetamine at a house on Helen Street.

The case is not related to the Douglas Street arrests.

Officers entered the Helen Street home, where Coyle was allegedly staying temporarily, after probation officers saw drug-related items while conducting a search of the residence.

Coyle was arrested on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine. She has been released on a $50,000 bond.
