" I don't quite understand the question. Does this mean people have been traveling outside the area to buy groceries? Or are they referring only to "home grown" produce such as tomatoes, corn, lettuce, etc.? In any case, the price of gasoline affects my grocery shopping more than the price of the food itself. It seems rather stupid to go from store to store to save a few pennies on different items, while burning up 5 or 6 dollars worth of gas in the process. "
