Two men to be ordained in Diocese of Sioux City

SIOUX CITY -- The Most Rev. R. Walker Nickless, bishop of the Diocese of Sioux City, will ordain Shane Andrew Deman and Jeremy John Wind into the priesthood on Saturday. The ordination will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Epiphany, 1000 Douglas St.
Attendance at the ceremony is by invitation only, but the public is invited to attend an hour of prayer for the seminarians with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Solemn Vespers and Benediction at 6 p.m. Friday at the cathedral.
Deman is a Sioux City native and a graduate of Bishop Heelan High School. He will celebrate his first Mass at 10 a.m., Sunday, at his home parish, St. Michael's Catholic Church, 2223 Indian Hills Drive. A reception will follow in the parish center.
Wind is from Jefferson, Iowa, and a graduate of Jefferson-Scranton High School. He will celebrate his first Mass at 10:30 a.m. at his home parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 503 N. Chestnut St., Jefferson, followed by a dinner at the parish center. A reception will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the parish center.
