Big Parade to feature big TV screen
Posted: Saturday, June 28, 2008
A 20-foot TV will roll into Sioux City on July 4 to promote the conversion of broadcast TV from analog to digital signals.
The gigantic screen, known as the ''DTV Trekker,'' will appear at the Big Parade along the Sioux City riverfront, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The DTV Trekker is the centerpiece of the National Association of Broadcasters' DTV Road Show. Upon completion of the national tour in February 2009, it will have traveled 95,000 miles, visiting 600 locations in 200 markets nationwide.
All analog TVs that are not connected to a converter box or a pay television service, such as cable or satellite, will need to be upgraded by Feb. 17, 2009 in order to continue receiving TV reception.
