WATERTOWN, S.D. (AP) -- A 24-year-old former South Dakota State University football player was found dead after the tractor he was driving went into a slough south of Watertown.
Codington County searchers recovered the body of Martin "Marty" Kranz on Monday afternoon.
Sheriff's deputies say a medical condition might have caused Kranz to become unconscious.
SDSU's football coaches were told about it and shared the news with the current players who were working out at a football camp.
Kranz graduated from the Brookings university last year. He was a leading tackler and one of the four captains for the team's 2006 season.
