OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Some residents in eastern Nebraska are again cleaning up a mess following another strong summer storm.
The latest moved through the region Tuesday night and into early Wednesday, raking an area from west of Columbus through Omaha and surrounding communities.
Some areas in that region have reported more than 3 inches of rain from the storm, which led to some low-level flooding.
The storm also brought high winds, with gusts near 60 mph, which brought down already-weakened tree limbs and knocked out power to some 12,400 Omaha Public Power District customers. Mike Jones with OPPD says that as of 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, slightly more than 2,000 customers were still without power.
The National Weather Service says sunny skies were on tap for eastern Nebraska later Wednesday, with high temperatures reaching 95 degrees.
